Aditya Aryal, also known as Sadhu-X, is a prominent Kathmandu-based urban artist with a distinctive approach to visual storytelling. Born in 1986 in Kathmandu, Nepal, he has established himself as a versatile and socially engaged artist. Specialization: Urban art, street art, and mixed media.Techniques: Spray paints, stencils, paint markers, murals. Artistic Mediums: Street art, canvas, found objects, installations. Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kathmandu University, Center for Art and Design (2011). Founding member of ArtLab Collective (2011-2014). Exhibited internationally in New York, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lisbon, London, and NantesCo-founded Kaalo.101, an independent non-profit art project in 2017.
Aryal explores diverse perspectives on social realities, blending contemporary global urban topics with traditional Nepalese imagery. His work often addresses sensitive subjects like women's rights, politics, and social issues, using art as a powerful medium of expression.One of his works, a stencil of a topless Kumari with the text "rape me", sparked considerable social discourse about women's rights in Nepal
