Bharat Rai is a contemporary Nepalese artist born in 1990 in Bung, Nepal, who currently lives and works in Kathmandu. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kathmandu University in 2016 and his Master of Fine Arts from Tribhuvan University in 2018.

Rai's artistic practice encompasses various mediums, including:
Painting
Sculpture
Photography
Installations
His work explores people's inner lives through symbolic representations of conflicts, often juxtaposing mundane and fantastical elements to create satirical, humorous, and poignant depictions of human contradictions.

Notable aspects of Bharat Rai's career include:
Curating experience: He served as the curator for Windhorse Gallery from 2018 to 2022.
Himalayan Art Initiative: Rai has been supervising its programs since its inception in 2018.
Takpa Gallery: He curates exhibitions there under the guidance of artist Ang Tsherin Sherpa.
In 2021, Rai held a solo exhibition titled "Whistle Blowers" at Windhorse Gallery in Kathmandu, which traced his childhood experiences growing up in Solukhumbu, Nepal.

Rai's artwork often incorporates metaphors drawn from daily life and Nepalese society. For example, in one piece, he reimagines a mule as a god standing on a lotus pedestal, challenging societal perceptions and drawing inspiration from traditional Himalayan art.
